Albert Chern

I am a multimedia journalist based in Lakeport. I grew up in the Central Valley, and my experiences within queer and Taiwanese communities there spurred me to tell the stories of rural Californians. I pivoted from a career in science with the intention of providing people with accurate, updated information.

I’ve reported on topics related to homelessness, overdoses, cultural events, and the environment, and I have bylines in Santa Cruz Sentinel, San Jose Mercury, Eos, and Mongabay.
