Andrea Jiménez Hernández

I am a multimedia journalist from Hayward, CA. My love for journalism comes from my love of people and sharing their stories with the world. Growing up in a news desert in the East Bay, I know first-hand how a lack of news leaves a void in communities. My lived experience, combined with my love for reporting on underserved and marginalized communities has propelled me forward in this field.

Previously, I worked at KPFA 94.1 producing audio segments covering Data Center and ICE Detention Center developments across California. At the Washington Post I wrote the biweekly Tech Brief newsletter covering tech policy and wrote about the unique ways people are interacting with Artificial Intelligence. I've also contributed to the Hayward Herald, writing local news stories about the happenings of my hometown.
