Aysha Pettigrew

I am a local news reporter based in Merced, California. I'm originally from the Bay Area and previously worked as an administrator at the UC Berkeley Investigative Reporting Program. I became a journalist because I am eager to understand the systems that shape our lives and help other people do so too.

I care deeply about building trust between journalists and the communities we cover and hearing from people in communities that have been marginalized. My past reporting has been on community events and education.
