The Imprint
I am a bilingual journalist from Bakersfield, California. Growing up in a place often portrayed negatively in the media, I became a journalist to provide a deeper understanding of communities like mine and their lived experiences. My journey began at California State University, Bakersfield, where I served as an editor for my campus newsroom and launched El Veloz, the Spanish-language section of its print publications.
Recently, I earned my master’s degree at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. My work has been featured in CalMatters, Local News Matters, and The Intersection, where I reported on education, youth mental health, housing and BIPOC communities.
