Julia Haney

I am an audio journalist based out of the Bay Area in California, where I’ve covered health, climate, and education stories for KALW, KQED, KALX, and local print publications. I was a fellow at the Investigative Reporting Program at UC Berkeley and worked for Reveal during the summer of 2025.

To me, the practice of reporting on a community with integrity, care, and attention is a way to honor its people. I’m particularly drawn to stories that are emotionally-nuanced and sound-rich.

Julia is an audio reporter for KALW, listen to the latest stories here.
