Renee Bartlett-Webber

I’m an audio and investigative journalist covering institutions that wield power and shape people’s daily lives. I’ve reported on how decisions made in city halls, school boards, and federal agencies reverberate through classrooms, housing, and immigrant communities. Originally from Michigan, I’ve spent the past 13 years living across California, from Los Angeles to San Francisco. I draw on my background in anthropology to inform a data-driven, culturally aware approach to my reporting. My work has been published and broadcast by CalMatters, KALW Public Media, LAist, Napa Valley Register, and other outlets.
